Indra announced it has finalized its acquisition of Deimos, following the necessary regulatory approvals. This strategic move, first announced in August 2024, aims to strengthen Indra’s Space NewCo by integrating Deimos’s specialized space capabilities. The completion marks a significant step in Indra’s ambition to expand its presence in the space sector, particularly across European programs.
Deimos, established in 2001, brings a wealth of expertise in small satellite missions, satellite integration, and critical flight subsystems. The company also excels in ground segment operations, including mission software development and space surveillance. By adding Deimos to its portfolio, Indra aims to provide comprehensive solutions for end-to-end space programs.
The acquisition enhances Indra’s prospects with the European Space Agency (ESA) and other space institutions, offering a more robust position for competitive projects. Space NewCo, Indra’s dedicated space division, will leverage Deimos’s knowledge and experience to address emerging opportunities in satellite missions and software-driven ground infrastructure.
The move highlights Indra’s commitment to growing its space capabilities, reinforcing its strategic positioning in the global space industry.
