This move strengthens Indra’s position in the space industry. It complements its recent initiatives, including approving the Indra Space spin-off, creating Space NewCo, and integrating the Startical initiative into the company’s portfolio.
The acquisition of Deimos enhances Indra’s abilities in all phases of space missions. Deimos brings expertise in satellite integration and critical flight subsystems. This acquisition also boosts Indra’s capabilities in the ground segment, particularly in control and mission software, as well as space surveillance and tracking. Deimos holds a strong position among space institutions and participates in various domestic and European programs, reinforcing Indra’s standing in the space industry. Indra’s shareholders approved the Indra Space spin-off on June 27, following the Leading the Future Strategic Plan presentation. This plan also included the incorporation of Space NewCo, a new entity aimed at offering comprehensive capabilities throughout the space industry value chain. Space NewCo will enhance Indra’s presence in domestic, European, and international space programs.
Indra will incorporate its 50% stake in Startical, a project focused on air traffic management communication and surveillance services, into Space NewCo to further strengthen its position. These developments show Indra’s commitment to leading the European space industry with an integrated approach across the value chain.
The new company plans to attract long-term global partners to increase financial capacity and accelerate growth in Europe, aiming for over €1 billion in revenue by 2030.
