The total potential value across all contractors is $476 million, with the performance period running through November 15, 2028.

The eight companies chosen include:

– BlackSky Geospatial Solutions, Inc. (Herndon, Virginia)

These companies are tasked with acquiring data from commercial sources to support NASA’s Earth science research. This data will be critical in enhancing NASA’s ongoing Earth observation efforts, alongside contributions from other U.S. government agencies and international partners. The contracts aim to provide NASA with a cost-effective way to bolster Earth observation initiatives, benefiting scientific research and applications that ultimately aim to improve life on Earth.

By leveraging commercial partnerships, NASA seeks to complement existing data collection, ensuring a broader, more comprehensive understanding of Earth’s environmental systems.
