Sydney-based startup Metakosmos has reportedly secured $2 million in a pre-Seed funding round led by Saudi Arabian technology group Alzadhar Al-Sanai. The company, known for its innovative “Kosmosuit,” plans to use the funds to accelerate its development pipeline, enhance spacesuit technology, and explore new market applications.

Metakosmos, founded by a team of engineers, medical doctors, and scientists, aims to address key challenges in human spaceflight. The Kosmosuit is a versatile, multi-environment spacesuit designed for extreme conditions both in space and on Earth. The suit features a modular design with a base layer, exosuits, and proprietary software for advanced telemetry.

CEO Kiriti Rambhatla emphasized the company’s mission to make spacesuit access and astronaut training more widely available. He expressed appreciation for the support from investors who align with Metakosmos’s vision of expanding human spaceflight services to new markets.

Co-founder Renuka Rambhatla highlighted the significance of the funding in scaling the Kosmosuit platform, which includes hardware, software, and services.

Earlier this year, Metakosmos received a $250,000 grant from the Moon to Mars Supply Chain Capability program under NASA’s Artemis initiative. The company has also received support from the New South Wales government and won the space category at the inaugural SXSW Sydney pitch competition.

Alzadhar Al-Sanai CEO Aziz AlOthman expressed enthusiasm about supporting Metakosmos, noting the potential impact of their technology on the future of human spaceflight in global markets.
