Sidus Space announced it has signed an extended and amended $120 million agreement with Lonestar Data Holdings. This deal expands the scope of their previous partnership, focusing on the design, development, and deployment of six lunar data storage spacecraft.
The spacecraft, based on Sidus’ adaptable LizzieSat® platform, will support secure, redundant data storage in deep space. These spacecraft aim to address the increasing need for robust data solutions beyond Earth’s orbit, offering secure and reliable storage for mission-critical information. Sidus will handle the spacecraft’s design, payload integration, launch planning, and on-orbit support as part of the agreement.
Carol Craig, CEO of Sidus Space, commented, “This contract represents a pivotal step forward in our partnership with Lonestar, demonstrating our ability to scale the LizzieSat® platform to meet diverse and mission-critical needs, including lunar missions.” She emphasized Sidus’ role as a key collaborator in developing cost-effective space technologies.
