Anduril Industries has announced it has been awarded a $99.7 million Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract and a five-year Program of Record designation by the U.S. Space Systems Command. The contract tasks Anduril with deploying its Lattice platform as a resilient mesh networking capability to modernize the Space Surveillance Network (SSN), a critical system for tracking space assets and debris.
This effort is part of the broader Space Domain Awareness Network (SDANet) initiative, which aims to replace aging infrastructure with next-generation technologies to support the U.S. Space Command’s evolving needs. The U.S. Space Command has set an ambitious deadline for full deployment by the end of 2026, and Anduril is on track to meet this timeline with integrated site deployments already underway.
The Lattice platform addresses critical gaps in the current system by offering a robust mesh communications network. Its capabilities include seamless sensor-to-sensor tasking, rapid data sharing with mission partners, and the flexibility to onboard new systems or partners quickly. These features ensure Lattice meets today’s operational demands while remaining adaptable to future challenges.
Since 2022, Anduril has collaborated with Space Systems Command to enhance the SSN’s communications infrastructure, demonstrating operational success in Hawaii. The platform is now being prepared for full-time operational use. Additionally, Anduril’s integration efforts extend beyond U.S. borders, with data contributions to the Unified Data Library for mission partners and plans to connect with other key U.S. Space Force (USSF) projects.
The modernization of the SSN through SDANet represents a critical step in bolstering U.S. space domain awareness. By replacing legacy systems with a resilient, high-bandwidth architecture, Anduril aims to ensure the U.S. Space Force has the tools needed to maintain its strategic edge in space operations.
