GalaxEye, an emerging player in space technology, has reportedly successfully raised $10 million in Series A funding, with significant investment from MountTech Growth Fund – Kavachh, along with Infosys, Speciale Invest, Mela Ventures, ideaForge, and Samarthya Investment Advisors. The Chennai-based company plans to channel these funds toward commercializing its satellite offerings, ramping up research and development, and preparing for the anticipated 2025 launch of its first satellite.
Co-founder Pranit Mehta outlined GalaxEye’s ambitious vision to deploy a network of five satellites, designed to capture any point on Earth within 24 hours. This constellation aims to support both defense and civil applications, along with agriculture and aquaculture, where satellite data fusion can deliver vital insights.
Mehta emphasized that the partnership with MountTech, founded by former Union Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar, is key to their expansion into the defense sector. He explained, “Having a partner like MountTech gives us confidence that what we’re building holds value for defense and contributes to national security. They also bring critical experience and guidance on shaping our technology to deliver actionable insights.”
While GalaxEye holds an “India-first” focus, it has begun exploring international markets, viewing scalability as a strategic goal. For now, the company is committed to addressing India-specific challenges, believing that solutions developed for these complex markets can easily adapt for broader global applications.
Founded in 2021, GalaxEye is pioneering the world’s first multi-sensor satellite, designed to offer all-weather, high-resolution data.
