Italian in-space logistics company D-Orbit has announced it has extended its Series C funding round, reaching a total of €150 million. Established in 2011, D-Orbit specializes in last-mile satellite logistics using its ION space tug, providing critical services for space missions. So far, the company has completed 16 successful missions and is planning seven more launches for 2025.
In January 2024, D-Orbit initially closed its Series C round with €100 million. On September 27, the company announced an additional €50 million, bringing the total to €150 million. Marubeni Corporation led the latest investment, which holds exclusive distribution rights for D-Orbit’s services in Japan. This partnership will now expand to Southeast Asia, opening new markets for D-Orbit in the region.
The funding round saw the return of several existing investors, including CDP Venture Capital, Seraphim Space Investment Trust, Indaco Venture Partners, Neva SGR, and Primo Ventures. It also attracted new investors such as Avantgarde, Iberis Capital, the European Innovation Council Fund, and Terna Forward.
The new capital will fuel D-Orbit’s global expansion and strengthen its operational capacity. According to the company, these funds will help accelerate the development of its in-space logistics services, including satellite deployment, orbital transportation, and debris management.
