Muon Space, a company specializing in designing, building, and operating low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellations, announced the successful completion of a $56.7 million Series B funding round. Activate Capital led this round, with participation from Acme Capital, Costanoa Ventures, Radical Ventures, and Congruent Ventures. This funding will accelerate the development of Muon’s Halo™ Platform and enable the company to enhance its services for a growing customer base.
Muon Space has secured over $100 million in committed customer contracts in 2024 for its Halo LEO satellites. Among these contracts is a significant agreement with SNC to develop and deliver three next-generation satellites. These satellites will enhance SNC’s Vindler constellation, which provides advanced RF collection and analytics capabilities. The first block of Muon satellites is scheduled for launch in 2025.
Tim Owings, Executive Vice President of SNC’s MST business area, highlighted the partnership’s benefits. “Muon’s scalable design and operations support, coupled with our RF technology and data analytics, will provide new commercial possibilities starting in 2025.”
Gregory Smirin, President of Muon Space, emphasized the competitive edge gained through this partnership. “Our end-to-end solution offers a significant advantage, providing SNC with a seamless approach from design to deployment and operations.”
While announcing the closed Series B funding round, Jonny Dyer, CEO of Muon Space, noted the company’s mission. “This funding and our strategic partnerships position us to accelerate our mission and make space-based intelligence accessible and impactful across various sectors.”
