Raytheon, a business under RTX, has signed a contract with Avio, a propulsion technology leader, to advance the development of critical solid rocket motors for defense applications. The contract aims to mature these motors into a production-ready state.
Bob Butz, vice president of operations and supply chain at Raytheon, noted the partnership’s importance. “This partnership with Avio marks a commitment between our companies to work together to develop resilient and responsive production of solid rocket motors,” he said. Raytheon and Avio plan to develop and mature potential rocket motor solutions to meet the increased long-term demand from domestic and international customers.
