Armada, a leader in edge computing, has reportedly secured $40 million in a funding round led by M12, Microsoft’s venture fund. This brings Armada’s total funding to over $100 million. The new funds arrive as Armada’s products become available in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, allowing Azure customers to use their pre-committed Azure spending on Armada solutions.

Pradeep Nair, Armada’s founding CTO, discussed the significance of this milestone. “This funding highlights the progress our team has made in transforming edge computing. Our partnership with Microsoft and the presence of our products on the Azure Marketplace will drive significant advancements in bridging the digital divide.”

Michael Stewart, Managing Partner at M12, added, “M12 has seen the rapid evolution of edge AI infrastructure through our investments. Armada stands at the forefront of this progress, providing a clear path for implementing edge AI across various challenging sectors.”

Armada’s key offerings include the Edge, a modular datacenter solution designed for remote sites, and EdgeAI applications tailored for edge use cases, whether on-premises or in the cloud. Their Commander Connect platform optimizes the management of IoT assets, including Starlink terminals and mobile data centers, leveraging Azure’s infrastructure for enhanced scalability, security, and performance.

Dan Wright, Armada’s CEO, highlighted the strategic benefits of their Azure integration. “This integration allows our customers to enhance operational efficiency using their existing Azure commitments, significantly boosting their digital transformation efforts.”

Armada’s technology has reached 43 countries, supporting sectors such as oil and gas, CPG, entertainment, and state government agencies. Their partnerships with companies like Halliburton, Edarat Group, and Skydio demonstrate the versatility and impact of their solutions across various industries, from defense and mining to healthcare and education.
