This strategy will target early-stage startups and companies looking to scale, providing them with crucial funding and business support. Dr. Andy Campbell, founder of the SSN, discussed the importance of this partnership stating, “This partnership is a significant milestone in positioning Scotland as a global leader in space innovation and investment.” He highlighted how combining local expertise with Sustainable Alpha’s investment network will drive technological advancements and economic growth in the space sector, both in Scotland and internationally.

Scotland’s space sector is projected to see substantial growth, with revenue expected to reach £4 billion in the next six years and the creation of over 12,000 new jobs by 2030. This growth is bolstered by recent investments in Scottish space tech companies, including the £16.7 million Series C funding secured by UK rocket manufacturer Orbex in April 2024 and the £320,000 investment in Edinburgh-based Aurora Avionics in May 2024.
The partnership also aligns with the Scottish Government’s Global Capital Investment Plan, which aims to build connections with financial centers worldwide, strengthening Scotland’s role in the international space economy.
Dr. Campbell mentioned that this partnership is just the beginning, with more collaborations planned to further support the sector.
