Revolv Space, a space tech startup with bases in Italy and the Netherlands, has announced the company has raised €2.6 million to advance the capabilities of small satellites. The funding round, led by Primo Ventures through the Primo Space Fund and joined by Takeoff, aims to accelerate the company’s growth and bring its flagship product, SARA, to space.

SARA, the world’s first autonomous and fail-safe Solar Array Drive Assembly, promises to boost small satellite performance. This investment will support the In-Orbit Demonstration of SARA and scale Revolv Space’s production capabilities to meet the growing industry demand for high-performance satellite components.

Marco Sala, CEO and Co-founder of Revolv Space highlighted the importance of this investment, stating that it will enable the launch of the first SARA unit into space after extensive testing. He also noted that the capital will help enhance production to serve constellation customers, pushing the boundaries of commercial space with innovative robotics and energy solutions.

Revolv Space has seen increasing demand from satellite integrators seeking high-quality, affordable components with quick delivery times. Filippo Oggionni, who leads the commercial efforts at Revolv Space, emphasized the company’s client-focused development process and transparent communication approach, which has already proven successful with existing customers.

The investment also supports Revolv Space’s new location in Turin, Italy, an emerging space sector hub. The startup benefits from backing from the European Space Agency (ESA) through its Business Incubation Centre in Noordwijk, the Netherlands.

Eugenia Forte, Director of Takeoff Accelerator, expressed enthusiasm for supporting Revolv Space at this pivotal stage. She praised the team’s innovative approach and highlighted the potential to redefine industry standards in satellite technology.
