NASA announced it has selected four companies to provide spacecraft and related services for the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. These contracts, with a combined value of $6 billion, will run through August 31, 2025, with the possibility of extending until August 31, 2030. The awarded companies are ARGOTEC Inc., Blue Canyon Technologies LLC, General Atomics, and Kongsberg NanoAvionics US LLC.
These companies will support NASA’s missions by providing spacecraft components and equipment. The contracts allow for flexibility, enabling the spacecraft designs and services to be tailored to meet the specific needs of each mission. The contracts also include an “on ramp” feature, which periodically reopens the solicitation. This feature allows new vendors to propose proven spacecraft designs and lets current contractors update or expand their offerings.
Work will mainly take place at the contractors’ facilities, with additional tasks at government launch sites. The Rapid Spacecraft Acquisition IV (Rapid IV) On-Ramp III contract ensures that NASA and other federal agencies can access the latest in spacecraft technology and services to support their space exploration goals.
