Rollup, a startup focused on streamlining hardware development, announced it has emerged from stealth and raised $5.6 million in Seed funding. Leading the funding were Andreessen Horowitz (A16z) and Thiel Capital, with additional support from Space VC and JAM Fund. This investment will help Rollup advance its mission to enhance hardware collaboration for engineering teams.

Founded in January 2021, Rollup is the result of its founder, Collin Mickel’s experience, a former Systems Engineer with a background at NASA’s JPL, Blue Origin, and Varda. Frustrated by inefficiencies in hardware development, he envisioned a platform to address these challenges.

Developing complex hardware involves various engineering disciplines, each using different tools and processes. This often creates communication and integration issues, leading engineers to spend a significant amount of time on non-engineering tasks. Rollup’s platform aims to solve these problems by integrating all necessary engineering activities into a unified, real-time environment. This reduces the reliance on fragmented solutions and minimizes costly changes.
