“Defense is going to be a huge focus for us in the future,” stated Adam Biskner, President of Space Systems at Redwire during the 39th Space Symposium. This sentiment stresses Redwire’s strategic vision to capitalize on growing defense budgets and demand as a trusted provider of mission-critical space infrastructure for leading government and commercial space entities.
Biskner highlighted some of Redwire’s cutting-edge defense offerings.
Expanding RF Systems Production “We’ve recently expanded our facility up there to triple our throughput in manufacturing RF systems,” Biskner explained, referring to their U.S. operations in Colorado. With over 50 antenna deliveries in just 6 months and hundreds more expected within a year, Redwire is scaling up antenna production aided by millions invested in new capital equipment.
A key focus was Redwire’s innovative Sabat platform designed for operations in the very low Earth orbit (vLEO) regime above aircraft but below the International Space Station. As Biskner described it: “It offers some very unique capabilities about twice as close to Earth as the International Space Station which will give our defense customers some very unique mission sets with getting optical images.”

While leveraging its multi-decade heritage, Redwire aims to broaden capabilities for defense customers.
“We’re looking at expanding the way we offer those [heritage products] to our customers as well as moving up the platforms such as to vLEO and other full missions as well,” said Biskner. Areas of focus include navigation sensors, power systems, on-orbit manufacturing and digital engineering.
When asked about Redwire’s key differentiator, Biskner emphasized: “Our differentiation is heritage plus innovation. We deliver with consistency and reliability to our customers, but we’re not just going to deliver the same thing over and over. We’ve adapted and leveraged our heritage to go into supporting the current market demands and the future needs of our customers.”
With growth fueled by defense priorities and enabled by ongoing innovation across its space systems portfolio, Redwire is positioning itself as a pivotal player supporting critical national security missions in the new space age.
