Spire Global, a leading provider of space-based data and analytics, has announced a multimillion dollar deal with an undisclosed financial firm. Under the agreement, Spire will provide its High-Resolution Weather Forecast model and develop an AI-powered model for long-range forecasting.
The High-Resolution Weather Forecast model offers a six-day outlook based on proprietary data collected from space. Through this partnership, Spire aims to further improve weather forecasting accuracy and speed by developing AI models.
This collaboration builds on Spire’s recent partnership with NVIDIA, leveraging Earth-2, NVIDIA’s platform for weather and climate change modeling. The new AI weather models are expected to enhance the accuracy of forecasts and produce long-range probabilistic forecasts quickly.
