Airbus Defence and Space has announced its plans to acquire INFODAS, a Cologne-based cybersecurity and IT solutions provider catering to the public sector, including defense and critical infrastructures. The strategic move is awaiting regulatory approvals and is expected to be finalized by the close of 2024.
In today’s digitally driven landscape, cybersecurity stands as a linchpin in safeguarding products and systems against growing cyber threats. With an eye on enhancing protection measures, Airbus has been steadily advancing its cybersecurity capabilities.
INFODAS boasts a workforce of approximately 250 professionals and annual revenues nearing 50 million euros. The company is certified by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) as an IT security service provider in the areas of information system auditing, consulting and penetration tests as reported in the official announcement. The company’s SDoT Security Gateway product line is sanctioned for classification levels up to secret.
Thorsten Ecke, Lutz Franken and Carsten Schulz, Managing Directors of INFODAS GmbH expressed their enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating “Together, we are committed to becoming the vanguard of digital sovereignty, while simultaneously expanding our footprint into new market segments and strengthening existing ones like Defence, Security, CRITIS and other public customers.”
This acquisition is well aligned with Airbus’ overarching goal to ensure robust defence mechanisms across its operations, products, and ecosystem.
