Insider Brief:

LeoLabs, an industry leader in all-weather, 24/7 radar coverage of low Earth orbit, has been selected to participate in the U.S. Space Systems Command’s Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Tools Applications and Processing (TAP) Lab Apollo Accelerator. The company will leverage its extensive catalogue of commercial assets in low Earth orbit to showcase AI-powered solutions for Combat ID and Space Battle Management.

Maintaining space domain awareness is crucial to ensuring the security of this domain. LeoLabs CEO, Dan Ceperley highlighted the company’s unique position in utilizing millions of daily data points to build powerful AI tools that continuously monitor, characterize, and alert anomalous space activity in the company’s recent press release. “Our team is excited to showcase these tools during TAP Lab,” said Ceperley.

Throughout the three-month TAP Lab cycle, LeoLabs will actively test and refine its AI-powered solutions for SDA by responding to various threat warnings and assessment scenarios. The testing will entail object characterization, maneuver detection, non-cooperative launch tracking, patterns-of-life analysis, and management dashboards.

Since 2016, LeoLabs has played a transformative role in space operations by significantly increasing the visibility of over 20,000 objects in low Earth orbit. Through its advanced technology, LeoLabs operates a 24/7 virtual global space operations center, processing millions of daily object measurements into critical insights for both commercial and government operators. The company’s global proliferated network of 10 radars provides coverage over the Southern Hemisphere, Northern Hemisphere, and Equator.
